Servers
Acolytes play a vital role in the worship life of Saint Michael & All Angels, helping to lead the congregation in prayer and praise through their faithful service at the altar. This page outlines the responsibilities of the Server from quick reminders to a full review of what to expect, how to prepare, and how to carry out this ministry with confidence and care.
Quick Reminders

Check the diagrams to be sure you know where to stand - especially during retiring procession.

Always go after the last banners (or after the CBs if there are no banners).

At the sign of the peace go behind reredos wait until directed by MA to go out.

S1 will take the water up to the priest (if one server struggles with stairs they should not be server one) and wait for priest to give it back.

S2 waits at the bottom of the steps with bowl and towel on wrist. Wait there for server 1 to finish.

The Celebrant will stop in front of S1 and S2 at base of Altar steps.

S1 will pour a small amount of water over Celebrant's hands into Lavabo Bowl held

by S2. Celebrant will dry hands with Lavabo Towel.

S1 and S2 return Water Cruet and Lavabo Bowl and Towel to Credence Table behind Reredos.

Servers will stand on gospel side during communion to wait for any further instructions.

Return behind reredos when choir takes communion.
