Processional Cross Team
Acolytes play a vital role in the worship life of Saint Michael & All Angels, helping to lead the congregation in prayer and praise through their faithful service at the altar. This page outlines the responsibilities of the Processional Cross Team from quick reminders to a full review of what to expect, how to prepare, and how to carry out this ministry with confidence and care.
Quick Reminders

Ask Verger or MC if there are any changes to the service to be aware of.

Check diagrams to be sure know where stopping during opening and closing procession

Discuss what height torches will be held to be even

The PCX should get the clicker prior to service.

The PCX leads the acolyte prayer before the service begins.

PCX / PTB Team follows the PV and is followed by the AF.

Always look to verger for movement on entering and retiring

Always mirror other cross team

The PCX and GCX signals the acolytes whenever they kneel.

The PTB team receives the offertory plates.

The PCX Counts the Gospel Side (and priests) during Communion.

When casually carrying the cross/torches, do not carry it horizontally or behind you because it can hit someone. Always keep them upright!
