Acolytes play a vital role in the worship life of Saint Michael & All Angels, helping to lead the congregation in prayer and praise through their faithful service at the altar. This page outlines the responsibilities of the Banner Bearer from quick reminders to a full review of what to expect, how to prepare, and how to carry out this ministry with confidence and care. ​

Quick Reminders

  • Look at diagrams to know where standing

  • Banners are typically stored in the Sanctuary.

  • The MC and CBs process between B1 and B2 with the remaining banners following in their numbered order.

  • It is best practice to hold bottom of banner at belt area and at an angle (if able).  This enables you to look below the banner

  • The PCX signals the acolytes whenever Acolytes kneel.

  • Be careful to lower your banner when you approach the Choir Loft.

  • When casually carrying the banner, do not carry it horizontally or behind you because it can hit someone. Always keep it upright!
